Cochin as such has nothing great to offer...Its got a lovely coast lined with the "Chinese fishing nets", a synogogue on one of the islands and a nice fort...though we did not check this
one... Our main aim was to spend a day on the house boat to revive and re-vitalise us....
We started of at around 4 in the evening( from Alapuzha).. the house boat was a novelty to us... well designed and well equiped too... After a hour and half around the back waters , we docked for the night. These guys donot move after 7ish..... With our pleading, he agreed to dock it away from the land....We spent the night catching up under the star lit night..![]()
The next day we started at 8 and went on till around four when we got of at our destination.. Through out the journey , they served us hot mallu or malyali food which was sumptuous.... For someone who finds the sight of water very soothing , this trip is very ful filling... Cudnt spot many birds, but it is supposed to be a bird watchers paradise (in the season...)
There are a lot of spas which we saw along our course... A day or 2 over there would complete a perfect "eat sleep and relax" holiday!!!!
PS: musquoito repellants are a must, especially if u want to spend the night on the sit-out part of the boat rather than in the rooms...
